Wildlife rescue with the Wildlife Angels

Our dedicated team and volunteers work tirelessly to rehabilitate injured wildlife preparing them for release back into their natural habitats. It’s a challenging and rewarding endeavour. And that’s where you come in! You can become a Wildlife Angel and make a real difference to the lives of these animals. As a Wildlife Angel, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting our rescue operations and enabling us to provide the necessary care and rehabilitation for these beautiful creatures.

Promoting animal welfare is at the forefront of our mission. We actively engage with schools, home education groups, and local communities to raise awareness about wildlife and wildlife conservation. Through educational initiatives and hands-on experiences, we want to nurture a deep respect for all living creatures. Wildlife Angels make all this possible.

This is your chance to see the dedicated Pet Samaritans team in action and meet some of the incredible animals in our care. From baby hedgehogs to majestic birds, you’ll be amazed by the variety of animals we rescue and rehabilitate. As a Wildlife Angel, your membership comes with some awesome perks. Not only do you get free entry to Open Days, but you also support the lifesaving work of the sanctuary. So, while you enjoy time with furry and feathered friends, you can feel good knowing that you’re making a difference. Grab your calendar and mark a date. It’s going to be a wild day you won’t want to miss!

Why become a Wildlife Angel

Our wildlife angels program provides vital care for sick, injured and orphaned wildlife with the aim of rehabilitating and returning each animal back into the wild. Every day we take in wildlife that needs our assistance operating seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Our Hedgehog hospital helps support our spikey friends. Hedgehog numbers continue to decline across Britain, so we do everything we can to help them. Many stay with us over the winter months, too fragile to survive hibernation, before being released back into the wild in spring.

As one of the few specialist Swift care centres in Derbyshire, we help grounded Swifts make their migration journey every year.

Caring for hungry swifts is a mammoth task and requires intensive care with a round the clock feeding regime of insects every day. Thanks for all your support, our Swift rescue has been a great success.

Jo – Head Swift Co-ordinator

We work with local swift support groups and have seen fantastic success releasing these miracles of the sky back into the wild to make their long journey home. Our wildlife centre opens all year round, 7 days a week to provide assistance when needed. As you can imagine, it requires a lot of resources and funding to be able to do this. Your support makes all this possible.

Success Stories:

Beatrice, a beautiful Tawny Owl, was found on Marsh Lane, Eckington. She had a swollen eye and a wound around her beak. With intensive care and hand feeding, she is slowly becoming more independent each day. We can proudly say she’s a survivor. Supporting wildlife like Beatrice: Through our Wildlife Angel program, you can help birds like Beatrice who wouldn’t have survived without us. So, join us in protecting these amazing creatures and be a part of their success stories. Because together, we can create wonders!

So many vets, wildlife trusts and people rely on us. Wildlife admissions are at an all time high and our success means we need Angels to support our important work.

When you become a Wildlife Angel, we’ll send you our welcome pack with a membership card and certificate
