Biggie is one of the baby hedgehogs we bottle reared – he was such a tiny tot but just look at him now. He still likes to be petted and likes to find somewhere snug to have a snooze. A fleece beanie hat made the perfect nest and when he found it he was straight inside. Just the right size and very cozy!
Alright, now I’m going to look for my dinner.
Food is important to all the hoglets – sometimes it’s a bit tricky to get them eating but once they get the hang of it, they wuffle all their dinner up and it’s more please!
Biggie lets us know when he wants a little treat – a tiny piece of biscuit…. mmm! A sultana …… bliss! A bit of toast… yum, yum! A sliver of apple …… come on, it’s good for you Biggie!
Many thanks to all the kind people who have brought food in for our hedgehogs – chicken flavour cat pouches are the favourite. And hedgehog food of course. We love our little hedgehogs – lets hope we can rear as many as possible through the winter and so help to increase the wild population when we release them in the Spring. Your help is much appreciated.
