Homer is much better and we are letting him out of his cage so that he can fly around. He’s a lovely bird and, as he’s a racing pigeon, he is used to being handled. As he’s been on the sick list for a long time he needs to build his wing muscles up and get ready for the big flight home. Whilst he’s walking he lifts one of his legs up – it still hurts, so that’s it, he isn’t ready to go yet. A small improvement every day but he needs to be fully fit before he takes his 100 mile flight home.
