We are still open!

Thanks to everyone who has got in touch to ask about the centre and a big thanks to everyone who has continued to support us. We are still running and have moved to a foster based system for cats and animals needing homes while we find a new base. It’s working really well and thanks to the folks who have stepped forward to offer assistance. The good news is, we are looking at setting up on a 3 acre site which we think would be perfect. It has no facilities (sheds, buildings etc) and is very bare bones but such a beautiful location and would be perfect for wildlife and animals. So it’s early days of planning at the moment and we hope to be able to share more news soon.

In the meantime, our wildlife phone lines are busier than ever and we are able to offer assistance and advice everyday as normal – we had a call from Pizza hut in York on Sunday needing help on what to do about a bird that had taken up residency in the restaurant – he had heard about the all you can eat buffet! The staff had rung round everywhere but nobody was answering the phone and they didn’t know what to do. We found out that York has very little in the way of Wildlife Rescue centres to call on, so we hope our advice helped the little chap and the staff at Pizza hut.

Adoptions are open

Adoptions are on going with cats coming in and cats looking for new homes.

Hector & Blitzen are two cats that are with us. Hector has been with us quite awhile and up until recently, has been quite shy. Blitzen came to us recently. Who’d have thought this unlikely duo would become best friends. Hector is 11 years old and is such a wise, gentle soul. He came to the Pet Samaritans several years ago and still hasn’t found his human. He loves his mum Lily and, up until now, has never made any attempt to make friends with anyone else. Blitzen is around 6 months old and has been quite an anxious little boy, but since meeting Hector, he has grown in confidence. Maybe there is a calm and gentle human out there who can give these two gorgeous boys the home they so very much deserve? In return, we are sure they will fill your heart with love.

Ps. Thank you to all who have enquired about adopting Lily without Hector. We know she has a huge fan club. If Hector and Blitzen continue to be friends and can find a home together, we will be in touch.

Muffin is still looking for a new family to call his own. He is currently at a foster home and has made wonderful progress.

Muffin is a 4 year old male guinea pig who would love a calm and kind best friend to share his favourite red peppers with.
