Our rescued ducklings have grown quickly and we released the first batch this week. They were hesitant at first but as soon as they saw the water – wow! that was it, they were off straight away. No need to teach these babies how to swim!
Kes is eating well and staying wild which is what we want most of all. When he is released he will have to fend for himself and hunt for his food. At present he is having raw meat and an egg every day which he enjoys. Keeping everything as natural as possible is the aim. […]
Just like the lager, our lovely brindle staffi, is good for you. She is a perfect companion, well behaved and very sociable. She’ll take you out for regular walks and help get you fit. Stella loves to have a stroll up the fields or in the woods. Stella will make sure you are never lonely, […]
Every day is different in the sanctuary and yesterday was more unusual than ever. We’re used to rescuing hedgehogs but not when they’re covered in oil!. Squirel Nutkin was brought into us a couple of days ago, he’d been knocked down by a car and looked to be concussed. We didn’t think he would survive as he was flat out and not moving. We put him in a dark box and kept him quiet, wild anmals are so stressed by their […]
Homer has been ready to fly to freedom for some weeks now – but he didn’t want to go! We’ve left the aviary door open but all he’s done is look at us and ask when the next meal is coming. Pigeons are home birds and the worry has been that he thought this was […]
This little duckling was left behind when his family moved on. He was becoming increasingly desperate and vulnerable and after searching for several hours without finding any trace of mum, his rescuer decided to bring the lonesome baby in to us. It is difficult to rear a singleton on their own but a soft toy […]
Two of our older kittens have had their first vaccination Morris, who came in as a rescued kitten, and Bo-bo who was also brought in recently are both over 9 weeks old and so could go to be vaccinated straight away. Our other kittens are not quite old enough. We think Bobo is around […]
