Appeal for Wildlife Unit
Our wildlife rescue operates throughout the year and helps rehabilitate injured wildlife, birds and hedgehogs brought into the Animal Sanctuary on a daily basis. Our Wildlife Rescue center opens seven days a week in Derbyshire and is dedicated to helping wildlife.

We’ve seen demand for our services increase dramatically with local vets and Wildlife Trusts referring cases to us. We’ve out grown our existing facilities and we are launching a fundraising campaign this year to build new larger treatment unit to allow us to cope with the demand. We estimate the project will cost £10,000 for erecting a new building, constructing a treatment room for injured wildlife and recovery unit with a free flight aviary for birds. This good news is we have areas suitable to site the units and just need to raise enough funds to make this dream come true.

Last year we helped over 300 hedgehogs and a dedicated unit for treatments would make the world of difference to us.

Help Us Raise £10,000 for equipment and housing for wildlife

It’s not just hedgehogs. We have helped many injured birds from owls to baby mice. Whenever possible we release all wildlife back into the wild. Some even stay on at the Sanctuary and live free around the center. A pigeon and a dove decided they liked it so much, they decided to have a family right next to our visitor center.

Treatment room
Having a dedicated area for treating injured wildlife with easy to clean cages will make a world of difference to us. They come pre-built and ready to use and are used by most vets.

We’ve had great success with our ‘Hedgehog Talks for Kids’ last year and hope this new facility will allow even more schools and volunteers to come down and get hands on with wildlife and learn about their care.

If you’d like to support this project, you can make a donation online using the form above or pop down to the Sanctuary to pledge a donation in person.
