Our online pet store is now open. You can buy a range of products including Dorwest Herbs, Greeting Cards, Books, Gifts, Dog and cat accessories, Vintage Items and lots more interesting things. You can also make a donation directly to the animals with our sponsor a pet section. Subscribe to our popular newsletter and we’ll deliver it direct to your door. Packed full of pet tips, stories from the Sanctuary and lots of great things, it’s a great way to keep in touch with our work. Our visitor center is open Thursday and Friday afternoon between 12.0 and 4.00, so it’s a good time to pop down to the shop for a browse. We’d like to thank all those who have helped make this possible and especially the volunteers who have mucked in with painting, clearing up rubbish and keeping the labour force in cups of tea!
As well as getting info on adoptions, the Rambling Rovers Club and the work we do, you can also browse in the book section (hundreds of great titles) and check out the donated gifts, cards, bric a brac, jewellery and all sorts of bits and bobs – bargains galore. Everything is sold by In the Dog House to raise funds for the animals. We’re open 11.0 am to 4.0pm.
At weekends there are usually some of the little ponies hanging around hoping for apples and carrots. We bring them to their pony pens on a rota basis so you might see Ruby and Daydream one day, Pixie and Bibby the next or Daisy and Crispin. The goats like to get their share of the attention so we fetch them down from time to time. The goats do have a mind of their own though.
We have details of dogs for adoption on display so it’s a good opportunity to sit down for a few minutes and have a look through our Sanctuary Soulmates gallery. If you see someone you like, we can fetch him to meet you and maybe you’ll go off for a walk together. It’s a good way to get to know your prospective pal.

Every week we try to put out a box or two of free books – they might be a bit scuffed round the edges but perfectly good reading copies – please help yourself.

Thursday and Friday afternoons between 12.0 am to 4.0 pm – otherwise by chance or arrangement.
Please telephone first if making a special journey as sometimes the centre is closed at short notice because of animal emergencies.

If you’d like to donate items to help us, please check our list of ‘wants’ below. We have limited storage facilities and getting rid of anything that doesn’t sell is very expensive now so please check out what we need with us first.

Yes Please - Dog and Cat Food – any brand – also - Clothes, shoes, handbags, books, gift sets, teddies, dollies, curtains, blankets, towels, jewellery (even if broken), bric a brac, small items of furniture (if large – please check with us first to make sure we have room), c.d.’s, d.v.d.’s, tool, rabbit hutches, cages, newspapers, shredded paper, knitted squares for pet bedding, carrots and apples – anything else please check with us. We can turn your cast offs into cat and dog food!
Sorry we can’t take:
No thank you – Electrical items, videos, anything damaged, plastic items, worn dog or cat beds, cat scratching posts.
It’s fine to leave donated items in Reception – many thanks for all your support.
