Tigger the tearaway kitten - Sanctuary Cats Print
Written by Pet Samaritans

Tigger was brought into the sanctuary by her mother who is a 'wild' cat who lives around the farm

When Tigger was born (on the straw bales in the goat shed) we thought she would turn out wild - just like mum.   But this little lady had more sense and soon realised that the folk who kept coming with kitten biscuits and pouches were to be relied upon and as soon as she was able to walk she decided to come towards us instead of running away.   This is quite unusual behaviour for the offspring of feral cats - maybe it's because she is a singleton.  Mum still follows her own 'wild thing' ways - she comes for food and then goes off on the hunt.  But little Tigger follows us round all day and then runs in to settle down on her heated pad for the night.  Clever little girl.

This black and white guy came to live with us a couple of years ago - he brought himself into the sanctuary!    He appeared on St.Patrick's Day - so Patrick it was and the name stuck.    Where did he come from?   We don't know.   He wasn't in a cat box or dumped by the gate as so often happens.  Maybe he was thrown out or his people moved and he just sensed that we'd give him bed and board no questions asked.   Patrick is a laid back sort of guy who likes to do his own thing - when he's not out mousing, he does a fair bit of lounging around in the sanctuary kitchen and waiting for his next meal to appear.  Not bad, eh?

Vaccinating, worming and of course, feeding all the sanctuary cats is a mammoth task.   We always need pouches and biscuits  and help with the vet bills.
