Dog cruelty emaciated shepherd dog brought in today Print E-mail
Written by Pet Samaritans

A dog brought in today by the Dog Wardens saw Linda, our main Sanctuary Organiser, breaking down in tears.   This poor German Shepherd is in a desperate state, so emaciated he can barely stand - all that's left of him is skin and bone.

But he clings to life and wants to eat and we are doing all we can to save him.   Warm goats milk, mince and gravy - a jacket, to keep his body temperature up and a soft bed.

We'll see what tomorrow brings and hope and pray he makes it.

Update:  This dog has made a good recovery.  It was touch and go at the start but when he'd had a good rest (he slept for two days solid!) he looked much better.  We think he was exhausted as well as desperately thin, when he began to regain his strength he started to eat for England!  We called him Lucky - ('cos he was so lucky to survive)  and he's now found a really good caring home.
