Five Star Accomodation – Aristocat Luxury Cat Hotel offers 5* accommodation with immaculate and spacious rooms all with heated pads and windows overlooking our own meadows. The cattery has a tranquil and quiet atmosphere, each individual room has an en-suite outdoor run with a climbing frame – our guests can saunter out during the day to enjoy a spot of birdwatching or just to look out over the fields at our miniature ponies.
Comfy and warm - every room has a cosy ‘den’ and you are welcome to bring your cat’s own duvet, basket, toys or cushions. Their own belongings help our guests to settle. Don’t worry if you forget as we have plenty of fleeces and cuddle blankets always on hand. Comfort is essential when cats come to stay! There’s a heated pad in every den and it’s lovely and warm – cats love them. The windows are popular – cats enjoy a ‘room with a view’ and to sit and see what’s going on outside. Flowers, pictures, mirrors and soft music all create a relaxing and ‘home from home’ atmosphere.
Brick and pantiles – The cattery is solidly built and of brick and pantile construction. All the floors are quarry tiled and the accommodation is pristine and immaculate. We have safety double doors to all entrances for optimum security. Whilst the cats can see their neighbours, they cannot fraternise! We have especially large rooms for family groups who are kept together unless we are advised otherwise. We provide litter trays both in and outside and have most brands of cat litter – please let us know which sort is preferred.
Spacious accommodation - there’s plenty of room for our guests to play, eat, sleep and they do love to explore. Timid cats can find a cosy corner. We always have cardboard boxes available if liked – perfect for quiet times or to ‘snug up’ in. The youngsters love them for games of hide and seek.
Varied menu – When we’re away from home food is very important and that goes for our feline friends too. We like to know what your cat likes – and dislikes – is it gravy and meat? Or jelly and fish? A few prawns? Crabsticks maybe? Chicken cut up very fine? Minced turkey? Sardines? Pouches? Pate? Perles? Cat milk – or goat’s milk? Decisions, decisions. A stoneware or stainless steel dish of freshwater is available all the time and water is changed twice daily. For cats who prefer it, mineral water is available on request.
Biscuits ad-lib - we provide all kinds of biscuits and the dishes are either changed, topped up or refreshed daily (excepting for the girlcats and boycats on a diet – just let us know). We also stock feline growth for the babycats, senior biscuits and pouches for the old stagers and special ‘lite-diet’ slimmers meals for those watching their weight. Our biscuits of choice are – Hill’s Science Diet, Royal Canin, Iams and Burns – we have all the other High Street brands too.
We like a curriculum vitae – telling us about the routine at home. We feed to appetite, small meals and often and just as much as your feline friend will eat at one sitting. A c.v. is much appreciated, telling us about feeding, medical history etc. A personality profile is also good – does your cat like to be picked up? Have his tummy tickled? Be wrapped up at bedtime? Is he a deep thinker? A conversationalist? Or even if he’s a loner and likes to do things in his own time.
Grooming – All our guests are brushed daily – if liked! Please bring your cat’s own brush and a little bag of luggage is welcome too. Toys, bed, even the scratch post is fine to bring. You can leave your cat basket here in your cat’s room unless you’d prefer to take it home with you. If your cat doesn’t particularly like the pet carrier, don’t worry, we have alternative storage. Sometimes the memory of going to the vets is just too much!
Vaccinations – All cats coming to stay at Aristocat must be fully vaccinated. Kittens can come as soon as their vaccination programme is complete. We like to see the card and make a note when you book in so please check that it’s up to date. We’ll make a record of your vet’s name and phone number at the same time. If your cat has medication please make sure that it’s labelled and include full details in the c.v. Vaccinations last one year and if your pet needs a booster around the time he or she is due to come for a stay, please check with your vet about the timing. We prefer it if visits to the vet are made well in advance.
Emergency contact - we like to have some contact details in case we want to chat about something while you are away. It can be a friend, relative, your vet even – so long as they know your cat. Also, if you have arranged for someone different to pick your cat up for you, please be sure to tell us and arrange some identification. It doesn’t have to be anything complicated – the make of car – or a description – just so long as we know who they are.
Established for over 30 years – we’ve been looking after cats while their owners are on holiday since 1980. We are cat fanatics! As you will see when you arrive, we have lots of cats of our own. Many of them are on the payroll as ‘greeters’ and they will come up and say hello to you as soon as you arrive.
This is Patrick – who is a bit of a poseur! He is handsome though isn’t he? A dedicated rodent operative too – this chap really earns his fishy dinners.
And this is Tortie who is one of our ‘seniors’ – although she still has lots of playful moments. She will come fussing round and want you to pick her up when she sees you.
Mischa is another very sociable lady cat who likes to be fussed and told how beautiful she is. Quite right too!
Brochure - we have a brochure that we’d be delighted to send to you – please let us have your name and address if you’d like one.
Opening Hours – We’re open all year round. Visitors are welcome between 11.0am and 4.0pm including weekends. It’s no problem if you’d like to come a bit earlier, outside these times it’s by appointment. We’d love to meet you – please give us a ring if you would like to call and have a look round. You can contact us by email: broomhillkennels@aol.com or by phone: 01246 456177 or 01246 455777 or mobile: 07821 673897.
Rates – Our daily fees start at £8.00 per day. That is for a part of a day also. We offer a discount for more than one cat sharing – from £4.00 per additional cat, so please ask about this.
Residential care – We are happy to take in cats for residential stays and this can mean for the rest of their lives. A discounted rate is offered and cats love it here with us. We have several permanent residents in their late teens, lovely characters who are still going strong and enjoying their T.L.C.!
We are dedicated to supporting The Pet Samaritans and St.Bernard’s Animal Sanctuary.
Cats and kittens for adoption – there are nearly always cats and kittens available for adoption in the sanctuary – please get in touch if you are thinking of giving a home to another cat. Our cat hotel – Aristocat – helps to support the waifs and strays.
