Sparky is a permanent sanctuary resident and as he is a most sociable character, he's on the staff as our 'Greeter'. Here he is supervising a Yard Sale.
Whilst we usually have lots of cats who would consider adopting you, there are also many cats in the sanctuary who are unsuitable for adoption. Either they're elderly and settled in their ways with us or others are just a bit too 'quirky' to move on. Life has to be on their terms. We don't mind that here. Some of them look really sweet, but appearances can be deceptive. Pick me up? No way! You don't really want to get scratched do you???
But we do have cats looking for people to love so if you are people who love cats, please give us a call and come and see some of our fabulous felines.
After a summer kitten influx (thank you to all the lovely people who've given our kittens good homes) we'll be updating the adoption pages very shortly.
Cats for adoption at the moment include:
Dylan - is a much loved pet who came to us when his owner passed away. He is still getting over the shock of losing his home and is a bit timid and likes to keep out of the way. When he does come out to say 'hello' his is very friendly and affectionate. Dylan is a large cat, a total wimp and not at all feisty. He just wants to be stroked and fussed and be warm and have lots of nice things to eat, of course! He's very handsome and we were told that his mom was a Rag Doll - hence his beautiful champagne coloured coat and large limpid eyes. If you'd like to come and meet Dylan please get in touch.
Alfie - a fine looking large black and white fella, around 3 years old and who is a real softie, he is laid back and placid - his only anxiety is about food - and that there's plenty of it around! He does love his grub! Alfie likes to spend a lot of time inside and have a comfy chair or box to snooze in but he does like a saunter out in the garden from time to time. Alfie is easy going with other cats and has a lovely affectionate nature.
Timmy - a handsome striped tabby - an independent personality who likes to do his own thing - about four years old and no problem at all to care for - he is very easy going about food and is house trained.
Tinkerbell - is a lady cat aged about 5 years, she is tabby striped, no white at all and is quite small and very neat. She loves to be inside and find a cosy spot to sleep. We think she spent a lot of time out on the run and so that is why she likes home comforts so much now. Tinkerbell is a dainty eater, very affectionate and although she likes to go out sometimes, she is always worried about getting back in as soon as she's ready! Very clean and good natured, Tinkerbell has a lovely purr and likes to talk to you - a pouch please ..... purr, purr, purr....... let me out please....... purr, purr....... I wanted to sit there!
Simnel - is a young calico (red, white and black) lady cat who came in as a stray. She is heavily pregnant at the moment but will be available for adoption when she's had her babies and has been spayed. Simnel is very pretty and striking but is a bit timid as yet - she likes to be stroked when she gets to know you. She'll be fine when she's in her own home and has some people to take care of her.
